Cedarwood is the 2nd oil chosen for our Essential Oil Challenge. As you can guess, cedarwood comes from cedar trees and has a very clean, "woodsy" scent. Honestly, I hadn't used cedarwood much before this challenge and was excited to give it a try.
I started using it at night, first, as it helps with sleep. I applied it to the bottoms of my feet and found that it did in fact help me sleep more restful and to wake up less during the night. I also used it with bergamot oil in my diffuser and it was very nice and relaxing. However, when researching Cedarwoods many benefits, I learned it can also be used to help with kidney/urinary issues and plan to try it for that when the need arises.
Cedarwood blends well with other essential oils like, Lavender, Sandalwood, Sage, Patchouli, Bergamot, Tea Tree and many others. Because of its woodsy scent and many benefits, it is used in many perfume/cologne recipes and beauty products.
