 We would like to introduce our new Massage Therapist, Mr. Stan Collins LMT Stan grew up here in Albany and attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a degree in Education. After teaching and living in Atlanta, he moved to New York City, where he worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines. He traveled a lot and learned many different massage techniques in other countries. He started his massage therapy career at the Swedish Institute in New York City and soon moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he graduated from Lexington Healing Arts Academy. He was an Instructor in the massage therapy department for 8 years at Sullivan University.
Stan loves to run, cycle, and practice Yoga and Tai Chi. He believes that building trust is very important in this profession and that comes through connecting with your clients by being attentive to their needs. A massage session should be a deep silent retreat, and providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere is paramount to receiving therapeutic touch. As you can guess, cedarwood comes from cedar trees and has a very clean, "woodsy" scent. Honestly, I hadn't used cedarwood much before this challenge and was excited to give it a try.
I started using it at night, first, as it helps with sleep. I applied it to the bottoms of my feet and found that it did in fact help me sleep more restful and to wake up less during the night. I also used it with bergamot oil in my diffuser and it was very nice and relaxing. However, when researching Cedarwoods many benefits, I learned it can also be used to help with kidney/urinary issues and plan to try it for that when the need arises.
